Instant Fire Alarm Activation When Seconds Count

The MCP401RC Manual Call Point is an emergency device that triggers all the alarms on the connected system when activated. Unlike manual call points that rely on traditional break-glass mechanisms, the front plate is made from a non-breaking plastic that means if the call point is used you can simply reset the plate, rather than having to replace it. This design eliminates recurring replacement costs and maintenance hassles while preserving the tactile feedback users expect from emergency devices.

Hardwired Reliability with 10-Year Battery Backup

This Call Point is mains powered and can be hard wired interconnected anywhere into the alarm system. 230V AC mains powered with tamper proof rechargeable lithium cells designed to last 10 years (the life of the unit) whilst providing up to 2 months operation in the event of mains failure. Your fire safety system remains fully operational even during power outages, ensuring continuous protection in critical emergencies.

Simple Resetting Without Tools or Replacements

When the unit is reset (using the key provided) it will automatically cancel the interconnect signal, and the alarms will stop sounding. The key-based reset mechanism is straightforward, allowing authorized personnel to quickly restore the system to standby mode after activation. When the front plate is pressed, a visible warning flag will appear to indicate it has been activated. This visual feedback instantly confirms successful activation, providing critical peace of mind during emergencies.

Professional-Grade Compatibility and Installation

Suitable for use with 2110e, 160e and 140RC Series Smoke, Heat and Carbon Monoxide (CO) alarms (up to a maximum of 20 including the MCP401RC). Easy to install via a 3-core connection – Live, Neutral and interconnect (the same as the Smoke, Heat and CO alarms), using 0.75mm² or 1.00mm² cable. The standardized wiring interface simplifies integration into existing Aico alarm networks, reducing installation complexity and cost.

Why Manual Call Points Are Essential to Fire Safety

While automated fire detection systems like smoke detectors play a vital role in identifying fire hazards, manual call points empower people to take quick action when a fire is discovered, sometimes before smoke detectors are activated. This simple, yet effective tool can make the difference in reducing response time during emergencies, helping to save lives and property. A correctly installed manual call point allows building occupants to raise the alarm immediately. This faster warning can support earlier evacuation, reduce panic, and help emergency response teams act more efficiently.

Compact, Space-Efficient Design

Measuring just 85mm × 85mm × 60mm, the MCP401RC fits seamlessly into any building layout without requiring extensive wall modifications. Supplied with a 35mm deep surface mounting box, a reset key and all fixings, it can be connected anywhere into the system via hardwiring. The complete package arrives ready for installation, eliminating the need for additional components or extended procurement lead times.

Built for UK Standards with Manufacturer Backing

It is CE marked and has a manufacturer's warranty period of 5 years. The device complies with stringent European safety standards, giving building managers and facilities professionals confidence that their investment meets all regulatory requirements for fire safety.
