Purpose-built heat detection for kitchens and garages

Heat alarms eliminate nuisance false alarms in kitchens, garages, and dusty environments where steam, cooking fumes, oil smoke, and humidity trigger traditional smoke alarms. While mains powered heat alarms effectively detect fast flaming fires that can grow quickly and cause serious property damage, heat alarms are more suited to detecting fires that begin with intense heat and little smoke—the exact scenario that often plays out in kitchen and garage fires.

Mains powered with battery backup for uninterrupted protection

The Ei144e provides continuous power from the building's mains electricity, reducing the risk of battery-only failure and supporting stable long-term operation. Its backup battery keeps the alarm working during power outages—especially important in emergencies when electrical systems may fail. You get reliability when you need it most, without the maintenance burden of regular battery replacements.

Wireless and hardwired interconnection options

The Ei144e integrates seamlessly into your home's fire safety network. Up to 12 smoke and heat alarms can be interconnected via hardwire or RadioLINK base so that when one senses fire, all units alarm. Interconnected heat alarms are your best option, as they will set off other smoke and CO alarms throughout your house if there's a fire in the garage, giving you more time to call 911 and get to safety. This networked approach ensures your entire household receives immediate warning, regardless of where a fire starts.

Fixed-temperature detection at 58°C

Aico heat alarms are equipped with a thermistor sensor that activates when temperatures reach 58°C. This makes heat alarms particularly useful in kitchens and garages, where traditional smoke alarms cause nuisance alarms due to cooking or other activities—for instance, steam from cooking could trigger a smoke alarm unnecessarily, but a heat alarm remains unaffected.

Professional-grade installation and reliability

The mains-powered design means all Aico heat alarms come with their own Easifit base for standard installation, and if you're replacing an existing Aico alarm, the new unit fits directly onto the same Easifit base, allowing quick swap-outs without re-wiring. This compatibility saves time and expense when upgrading your system.

Comprehensive fire protection strategy

To ensure comprehensive fire safety, combining smoke alarms with heat alarms is essential—adding a heat alarm to areas like the kitchen and garage is a crucial step toward achieving full home protection. The Ei144e fills a critical gap in residential fire safety by targeting the specific environments where smoke detectors consistently fail.
