The Ei128R is a mains powered Relay Module that triggers external devices, such as a strobe light or telecare device, if the alarms in the property activate. This hard-wired relay acts as the critical link between your Aico 3000, Ei2110e Multi-Sensor Fire Alarm, 160e Series alarms and 140RC Series interconnected alarm system and external safety equipment that demand immediate action during an emergency.

How It Works

On receiving a signal from the alarm system, the relay contacts will be operated causing a signal to be sent to the device to which it is connected. Unlike the alarm panel itself, the relay module provides a way for a high-voltage device to be controlled by a low-voltage signal by closing a switch that activates the device when the fire alarm sends a small current to it. This isolation is essential—it protects sensitive alarm circuitry while safely activating powerful external equipment.

Flexible Output Configuration

The Relay module can be configured to give a 230V output or a 24V output using an external 24V supply. The Ei128R can be used to switch into a range of devices, ranging from indicating lights to magnetic door handles. More specifically, the relay module is used to signal ancillary devices, such as extractor fans, remote sounders and door closers. Whether you need to activate visual alarms, summon emergency assistance, control building access, or trigger ventilation systems, this module accommodates your specific safety architecture.

Continuous and Pulse Operation Modes

The module can be switched to give a pulse output, or continuous output for different applications. When in Pulse operation mode, the relay contacts will automatically switch back to their original state after 5 seconds. This flexibility ensures the module adapts to whether you need sustained activation of a device or a timed signal to trigger another system.

Reliable Power Management

The Aico Ei128R Hard Wired Relay Module operates on 230V AC mains power. It includes built-in, tamper-proof lithium cells that provide battery back-up during mains failure. These rechargeable lithium cells are designed to last for 10 years, outlasting the module itself, and providing up to 2 months of operation without mains power. This means your safety systems remain connected and responsive even when electricity fails—exactly when you need them most.

Installation Designed for Simplicity

The compact circular design measures 135mm diameter x 20mm depth and is designed to fit underneath the space of easi-fit or RadioLINK base. A cover is supplied if needed for remote installation when surface mounting isn't suitable. Fitted with a 4 way connector block for ease of wiring. Features 3 x 25mm trunking knockouts for surface wiring and centre knockout for recess wiring, giving installers the flexibility to route cables neatly through walls or along surfaces.

Multiple Units in One System

More than one Relay can be used in a set of interconnected alarms on the condition that no more than 12 units are used in the system (1 x Ei128R counts as one unit). This scalability lets you control multiple external devices independently across your property or interconnected alarm zones.

Contact Ratings and Safety

Volt free contacts – (Normally Open or Normally Closed) rated up to 240V AC/5 Amps, making it suitable for use with a wide range of AC or DC voltages. The design isolates your alarm system from the higher-voltage external loads, protecting sensitive components while ensuring devices activate reliably when needed.

Manufactured in Ireland, the Ei128R delivers the solid engineering Aico is known for. 5-year guarantee provides peace of mind that your emergency response system is built to last.
